Northface Construction Truck Theft Update

If you follow us on our Social Media or know us personally, you would know about our company truck getting stolen a few weeks ago. We have a few things to say about it, and wanted to share this crazy story with you all. Please watch our video update, and a huge thanks to anyone who shared our post on social media. We are forever grateful, and happy to have our truck back!

What happened was, I left my house in the morning to head into the Northface office, only to find my truck was gone. Sometimes I lend it to employees, so I called around to see if anyone had borrowed it. No such luck. We determined the truck had been stolen sometime in the night, and I ended up contacting On-Star, which I am not a subscriber to, but they were able to track down that my truck was in Wisconsin.

At this point, I handed all the info I had over to the police, and they took it from there. What transpired to retrieve my truck that day was a wild ride, needless to say. Anoka County Police was able to retrieve my truck, and apprehend the thieves within 4-5 hours of me reporting it stolen. Thanks to the amazing work of their officers!

I found out later that thanks to On-star, they were able to shut down the vehicle en route, lock the perpetrators in the vehicle, and communicate with them through my speakers. I could not be more grateful for that. After about an hour, the suspects finally gave up, left the vehicle, and began to run. They didn’t make it far before they were arrested. Two males and Two females were arrested and were found to have been using Methamphetamines in my vehicle.

As grateful as I am that my truck was found unscathed, and the perpetrators were captured, I want to touch on an issue that is very apparent in our communities. Drug use and abuse in Elk River and surrounding counties, as well as the nation,  is an issue that should be taken seriously. This was my first instance to have this issue hit so close to home for me. It really pulls at my heartstrings to know these young lives are being so negatively affected by their addiction, and if they weren’t under the influence, they maybe would not have endangered the lives of themselves and others.

I would like to take this opportunity to forgive those involved in this situation and want them to know they are cared for, and I have hope that they can learn from this and turn their lives around.
